Curve divertenti tra montagne e passi mitici, le distese di lavanda violetta, l'atmosfera lunare del Mont Ventoux, le Gole del Verdon tra roccia e acqua
Il Verdon, meta classica di noi motociclisti piemontesi e di Giroola, è un luogo perfetto per girare in moto: strade belle, curve divertenti e panorami mozzafiato di gole e montagne, di laghi e di fiumi: le Gorges du Verdon, le Gole di Daluin, Castellane, il Lac Sainte Croix.
Se ci aggiungete i passi alpini che bisogna fare per raggiungerlo, le distese di lavanda in fiore di Valensole, il mitico Mon Ventoux, le vertiginose Gorges de la Nesque, eccovi un viaggio di 5 giorni divertente e spettacolare, in pieno stile Giroola.
Massimo 8 viaggiatori, con la nostra Elena come accompagnatore: non resterà che godersi la strada e i paesggi!

Curve e tornanti
In questo viaggio si passa la maggior parte della giornata in sella, e si affrontano tornanti stretti e splendide curve!
Le ore di guida indicate sono quelle effettive che passeremo in sella, non comprendono le varie soste che faremo durante la giornata (caffè, pranzo, foto, ...)
Giorno 1 - da Cuneo a Castellane - circa 270 km / 6h di guida
Ci ritroveremo a Cuneo, capoluogo della "provincia granda" piemontese, per partire alla volta della Valle Stura e alla salita al Colle della Lombarda. Pranzeremo a Roubion, in un piccolo borgo arroccato sul costone della montagna che sembra uscito dalle favole e da qui, attraversando le spettacolari Gole di Cians e del Daluis con il loro particolare color rossastro, arriveremo a Castellane, sulle rive del fiume Verdon.
Giorno 2 - Rive Gauche Gorges du Verdon - circa 250km / 5h30 di guida
In questa giornata percorreremo la "Rive gauche" delle gole del Verdon, incontrando i primi campi di lavanda e arrivando a Riez per pranzo. Da qui proseguiremo verso ovest lungo le strade delle Alpi dell'Alta Provenza per arrivare ad Apt per la notte.
Giorno 3 - Mont Ventoux et le Gorges de la Nesque - circa 240km / 5h di guida
Oggi viaggeremo scarichi, lasciando le valigie in albergo e godendoci le strade più belle della zona. inizieremo la giornata con una visita alla bellissima Abazia di Senanque, immersa nei campi di lavanda. Proseguiremo salendo a guardare il panorama dall'alto del suggestivo Mont Ventoux e attraverseremo le Gorges de la Nesque prima di rientrare in hotel.
Giorno 4 - Rive Droite Gorges du Verdon - circa 250km / 5h30 di guida
Oggi ritorneremo verso il Verdon per percorrere la Rive Droite tra curve e panorami spettacolari. Da qui proseguiremo verso il Col D'Allos e scendere a Barcellonette per la notte
Giorno 5 - I passi alpini - circa 250km / 5h di guida
Per concludere al meglio la nostra vacanza, oggi ci divertiremo sulle strade ed i passi di montagna: passeremo dal Col du Vars, poi sui classici, resi famosi anche dal Tour de France, Col d'Izoard e Col du Galibier per poi rientrare in Italia dal Moncenisio e finire il nostro giro nella bella città di Susa, di fronte alle sue rovine romane perfettamente conservate, e bere una bibita tutte insieme prima di salutarci!
Preparata e meticolosa, Elena ha sempre tutto sotto controllo: se le strade non sono quelle delle nostre montagne piemontesi che conosce a memoria, data la sua esperienza ventennale in moto, le studia e ristudia non fidandosi mai solo del GPS. Sempre alla ricerca delle curve più divertenti e dei migliori panorami, Elena sa gestire i gruppi di motociclisti con allegria ma anche con determinazione: con lei nessuno resta indietro e nessuno scappa via, sa indicare agli smanettoni i punti in cui lasciare correre i cavalli del mezzo, e aiutare chi è meno esperto a godersi il viaggio con tranquillità e sicurezza. In Giroola Elena è la regina delle moto, ma il suo dominio spazia dagli hotel alla contabilità, dalle prenotazioni agli accompagnamenti in bici.

Our motorbike tours are designed to be easy, relaxing and enjoyable. For this reason, we keep the number of participants so small (maximum 8), in order to adapt the rhythm and routes to the capabilities of the group. No one gets left behind, and that's why our motorcycle tours are suitable for beginners.
Driving will, however, be a significant part of the trip, so we recommend to self-assess your driving skills and endurance honestly before deciding to take a motorcycle trip.
This tour, however, does not require any exceptional driving skill:
- There will be for sure some tight roads with hairpin turns, so you should be able to steer the bike in these situations.
- We will not drive too fast, we will enjoy the road, the curves and the landscape.
- there will be fun and enjoyable roads during all the tour.

You can ride with us on any kind of bike (you can also join with a big scooter, we don't discriminate against anyone!)
To be able to maintain an adequate pace that allows us to keep up with the various stages of the program, we recommend using a motorcycle that has at least
- 300cc / 35cv / 25kW for tours with average daily travel up to 200-250km
- 500cc / 40cv / 30kW for tours with an average daily distance of 250-300km or higher
This was, if the situation requires it, or when the tour requires it, we could also take advantage of some sections of motorway (which we usually try to avoid as much as possible). These are guidelines, we know that a good biker with a 250 can go faster than Elena with her Tiger 800, so if you have any doubts, do not hesitate to ask us.
This tour will be entirely on paved roads, so you can join with your motorcycle, or with the one you like, it should only have good tires and be well maintained.

Non sono incluse le cene, perché vogliamo che i nostri viaggiatori siano liberi di mangiare, e di bere, quello che preferiscono, senza sentirsi legati o obbligati da un menu o da un prezzo fisso. Il nostro accompagnatore organizzerà la cena per il gruppo ascoltandone i pareri e i gusti, e sarà presente per la serata.
E' previsto uno sconto del 10% per il passeggero.
Il supplemento camera singola di questo viaggio è più alto del solito perché in Francia in genere si paga la stessa cifra per la camera singola o doppia, di differenza c'è solo il costo della colazione.
Se ti stai dicendo: "...ma andando in giro con gli amici spendo meno!" - è vero, ma qui c'è qualcuno che si occupa di tutto, in un piccolo gruppo in cui nessuno viene lasciato indietro, e che lavora perché tu possa divertirti, senza preoccupazioni e senza dover guardare il gps ad ogni curva, concentrandoti sulla strada e godendoti il viaggio!

La fine del tour è prevista:

Our idea is to meet in a special place, easy to reach by motorcycle, and get to know each other in front of a croissant and cappuccino before starting our day together.
If you like, we can book you a room the night before near the starting point, or the final evening, after the end of the tour, to eat another pizza together with the rest of the group, and go home the next morning, fully rested.
Before departure we will confirm via email to the registered travelers the exact place of the appointment.

In questo viaggio staremo in moto per diversi giorni di fila, gran parte del tempo, ed è importante preparare al meglio i bagagli per avere tutto quello che serve senza portarsi dietro tutto l'armadio!
Se hai più completi da moto, ti consigliamo di sceglierne uno "quattro stagioni" (di quelli con più strati che si possono mettere o togliere a seconda del meteo): in un viaggio lungo è più probabile trovare condizioni meteo e temperature anche molto diverse tra un giorno e l'altro, e un abbigliamento tecnico più versatile è sicuramente la scelta migliore
Per la sera non serve molto, giusto un cambio o due per uscire a cena e fare due passi. Il tempo che trascorrerai indossando questi abiti sarà minimo e potrai rimetterli senza problemi le sere successive: siamo tutti motociclisti con i bagagli da portare in moto, nessuno farà caso se qualcuno indossa la stessa maglietta tutte le sere (chissà quante volte, dopo una vacanza, svuotando la valigia, avrai tirato fuori abiti che non hai mai indossato... vuol dire che non servivano e quindi possono rimanere a casa!)
Per gli abiti da moto (le t-shirt in microfibra, la biancheria, etc) la soluzione invece è... materiali adatti e fare il bucato la sera. Elena utilizza una boccetta da bagno schiuma di quelli da hotel con il detersivo liquido e fa il bucato prima di uscire a cena la sera, così la mattina dopo è fresca, pulita e profumata e viaggia leggera! Se hai già fatto altri viaggi in moto probabilmente sai già cosa mettere in valigia, se invece è il tuo primo, puoi prendere spunto da questo promemoria di Elena:
- 2 paio di pantaloni
- 1 paio di pantaloncini
- 2 t-shirt manica corta e 1 manica lunga per la sera
- 1 t-shirt di ricambio in microfibra per il giorno (oltre a quella con cui parti)
- 1 felpa o maglia pesante per la sera (in montagna anche d'estate fa freddino)
- 1 maglia termica per il giorno da mettere sotto il giubbotto da moto
- 4 mutande
- 4 paia di calze
- pigiama
- costume da bagno (se il viaggio prevede mare o piscina)
- ciabatte
- 1 paio di scarpe per la sera
- beauty: spazzolino, dentifricio, barattolino piccolo per eventuale crema viso, qualche medicinale per le emergenze. Bagnoschiuma e shampoo non servono perché li troveremo in hotel. L'indispensabile per un make-up semplice per noi donne
- sacchetti per la roba sporca
- carica batterie del cellulare
- tuta anti pioggia (anche qui speriamo non serva)
- bomboletta gonfia ripara o kit antiforatura (tocchiamo ferro ma non si sa mai...)
Per viaggiare in Francia
Per andare in Francia è necessario per tutti i partecipanti un documento valido per l'espatrio (carta di identità o passaporto - la patente non è riconosciuta come documento di identità)
Le prese di corrente in Francia sono di tipo tedesco a due pioli. In questo tipo di prese funzionano correttamente anche tutti i caricabatteria normali di telefoni e tablet che utilizziamo in Italia. Non vanno bene per la Francia le spine a tre pioli.
Inoltre, il codice stradale francese prevede l'obbligo di avere con sé:
- giubbetto catarifrangente (non è obbligatorio indossarlo durante la guida, ma bisogna averlo con sé in caso di sosta di emergenza - un po' come in Italia dobbiamo averlo in auto) - anche per il passeggero
- guanti omologati EN13594 - anche per il passeggero
- carta di circolazione
- assicurazione
- patente valida per l'estero (patente A). (E' valida anche la patente B se è stata conseguita prima del 31/12/1985. Con una patente B conseguita tra il 1/1/86 e il 25/4/88 si può guidare la moto solo in Italia. Per andare all'estero si deve sostenere un esame pratico alla motorizzazione per rendere la patente idonea all'espatrio)
In our motorbike journeys you can find solo riders, couples, friends, ... In a small group of 8 you become immediately friends, and often people keep in contact even after the end of the tour. This tour is perfect for those that traveling alone but don't want to be on their own for the whole trip. You're independent and you can choose if and when to share your free time with the group.
Our travelers are people who know how to travel, in fact they arrive independently to the place of the appointment, mainly from all over Italy (but not only) and who choose to take a trip with us to learn differently about places, people, flavors and traditions. We are proud to say that our travelers are the best part of our trips!
Solo travellers are always welcome in our tours, and if you feel like sharing a double of triple room with other members of the group we will send you an e-mail after your reservation and you will be able to tell us about your preferences (for example, if you are a girl and you would like to share a room with girls only etc). You will not pay any surcharge.
If you prefer, you can book a single room for a fee.
If there are no other solo travellers in your tour or if there is no opportunity to satisfy your preferences, your single room will be offered by us at no extra charge.

During the tour you'll be covered by our Civil Responsibility Assurance (Reale Mutua Assicurazioni, via Corte d'Appello 1, 10122 Torino, nr.2007/03/2276452).
We adhere to the Guarantee Fund (art.50 Dlgs 23.05.2011 n.79) which can be used by all travellers provided they have a contract in case of bankruptcy or insolvency for the refunding of the price paid. (Fondo Garanzia Viaggi Srl, via Nazionale 60, 00184 Roma, certificate n. A/146.1485/5/2017).
Booking Policy, from the General Terms and Condition for the Sale of Tour Packages:
3) RESERVATIONS
Acceptance of reservations by Giroola Srl is subject to availability. Reservations will be considered final following confirmation by Giroola Srl, even via e-mail or fax, to the client.
Indications relative to the tour package not contained in the contract documents, brochures or other forms of written communication, will be supplied in time by Giroola Srl prior to the initial starting date in compliance with its duties as envisaged by Legislative . decree n. 79/2011.
4) PAYMENT
Upon booking, a registration fee and a deposit of 25% of the total amount is required. Full payment is due 30 days prior to departure. For reservations made within 30 days of departure, full payment is due upon booking. Lack of payment of the abovementioned sums on the dates established constitutes grounds for cancellation of reservations such as to determine, on the part of Giroola Srl, the right to terminate the contract.
5) TRANSFER OF CONTRACT
The client renouncing the contract may be substituted by another person provided that:
a) Giroola Srl be given written notice at least 4 weekdays prior to the date of departure, together with the necessary personal data of the transferee;
b) The transferee be able to satisfy all the conditions for the fruition of the service ( ex article 10 of Legislative decree n.111/95) and in particular the requisites relative to passports, visas, health certificates;
c) The transferee refund Giroola Srl for all expenses incurred for the transfer of the contract for the sum specified before the transfer.
Moreover, the transferor and the transferee are both accountable for the payment in full of the tour package price as well as for the sum as per item (c) of the present article.
As far as certain types of services are concerned, third party suppliers have the right to refuse the substitution of the transferee, even if effected within the time limit specified as per item (a) of the present article. Giroola Srl will therefore not be held responsible for the eventual non-acceptance of the substitution on behalf of third parties. This non-acceptance shall be notified in good time by Giroola Srl to the parties involved before departure.
6) WITHDRAWAL
In the event of withdrawing from the tour package contract, the client is, in any case, liable for the payment of the tour package price. If withdrawal takes place for reasons beyond those envisaged in article 7 of the present General Terms, the client shall pay, in compliance with ex article 1373, paragraph III, Italian Civil Code, cancellation penalties as specified below:
- 10% of the tour package price within 30 days prior to departure
- 30% of the tour package price from 29 to 18 days prior to departure
- 50% of the tour package price from 17 to 10 days prior to departure
- 75% of the tour package price from 9 to 3 weekdays prior to departure
- 100% of the tour package price beyond these terms.
7) WITHDRAWAL OF CLIENT WITHOUT PENALTY
The client may withdraw from the contract, without incurring any penalty, in the following circumstances:
- a significant change of one or more elements of the contract which can be objectively considered as fundamental for the fruition of the tour package in its entirety and proposed by Giroola Srl.
- after the conclusion of the contract itself but prior to departure and not accepted by the client.
In the abovementioned circumstances, the client is entitled to the following options:
- the fruition of an alternative tour package, with no increase in price or with the restitution of the excess in price, if the second tour package costs less than the first;
- the restitution of any sum corresponded as partial payment. Said restitution must be made within seven weekdays from receiving the request for reimbursement.
The client must communicate the decision (to accept the change or to withdraw) within two weekdays from receiving notice of the price increase or change. In the absence of specific notice within the said term, the proposal made by Giroola Srl will be considered accepted. The client who decides to withdraw from the contract before departure for circumstances beyond those listed above shall pay, after deducting the account paid as per article 4, the penalty indicated in article 6.
8) TOUR VARIATIONS
Variations to the tour, requested by the client, after the confirmation of booking, could involve processing expenses for Giroola Srl and at times penalties charged by suppliers. If so, the customer will be charged. Partial withdrawal of some of the travellers under the same contract and the resulting decrease in number of tour members is to be considered partial cancellation and is consequently regulated as stated in article 6.
As specified in our General Conditions of Sale of tourist packages, when you travel with Giroola you are covered by our Civil Liability Insurance. For all that could happen and that was due to our negligence or error, we have signed a policy (Reale Mutua Assicurazioni, nr.2007 / 03/2276452).
There are other insurance policies that we recommend and for which we have chosen to work with Allianz Global Assistance, whose Globy range seems to us to be the most suitable for our travelers:
- TRAVEL CANCELLATION - Our 8-person trips are often full months before the date of travel, and even if our cancellation policy is actually much more flexible than expressed in our Booking Policy (our travelers can attest to this, we are very available to move the trip in case of unexpected even the last minute), where other facilities are involved (hotels, rentals, etc) some expenses are not really refundable, and therefore a good trip cancellation insurance becomes a valuable ally.
- HEALTH and ASSISTANCE
We at Giroola are an agency of the Globy network of Allianz Global Assistance, and we can therefore provide you with all the information, make estimates and issue the policies directly with the booking.
